This work is used in the wiki to take the place of the commonly, but mistakenly, used terms [[Identity Management]] or Identity and Access Management.

==Context==
From the time of the creation of [[SAML]] the term [[Identity]] has been misused to indicate the Identification of an [[Entity]]. To be clear, the [[Identity]] of any [[Subject]] or [[Object]] is inherent in that [[Entity]] and cannot be "Managed".
