The idea that a user of a Browser can indicate their intent as a part of a GET or POST message.

Context

Do Not Track (DNT) was a header that could be placed in a HTTP header. The objective was to tell the web site that they were not to track the user as the user navigated around the web.

Problems

1. Advertisers want to track users.
2. Google grew to the size that they are by allowing the advertisers to track the users and thus allow Google to charge more for the ads.
3. This would never work without government regulation.
