Full Title or Meme
An Internet Protocol address.
Context
The internet is an isolated system with a globally unique Identifier that can locate any internet attached machine with a single address.
Problems
The IP version 4 system had only 32 bits of resolving space, which seemed quite large when established in 1983.
Solutions
IP version 6 has been in use since 1998 (with a final revision in 2017) and provides 128 bits of resolving space, which seems quite large today.
