Why We Can't Have Nice Stuff

There is something deeply wrong with treating ethics as a break from the past of "Algorithms that rely on digital identity and other data from the past to predict the future have long been commonplace: they predict what we will watch next, how financially stable we will be, or how likely we are to commit a crime."[4]

In fact, trust is nothing more than the projection of past behavior into the future. An uncontrolled reliance on the anarchy of the internet gets us nothing but more bad behaviors.
