The Federated Identifier is one assigned by an Identifier or Attribute Provider like hotmail or gmail as well as organizations like work and school accounts.

Also known as use of a Federated Identifier.

Context

While it is common to see an email address used as a Federated Identifier, is is unceasingly common to see a mobile phone number used instead. The interesting thing about both of these Identifiers is that they also serve as Notice-centric IDs since the IAP can notify the holder of an problems or attacks against the account.
