This are a few of the various regulations and government programs that have been so far identified.

  • Digital Europe Programme (DIGITAL) Call for proposals (2022-02-15)
  • Digital Credentials for Europe European Union’s eIDAS trust framework focusing on the education and social security fields. DC4EU will investigate the issuance of educational credentials and professional qualifications in the education sector and the issuance of the Portable Document A1, and the European Health Insurance Card in the social security sector. DC4EU will support cross-border, large-scale piloting of the European Digital Identity Wallet in compliance with the EU Toolbox process. DC4EU will develop four (4) use cases where we test interoperability and scalability in the national domain and multiple cross-border contexts to provide feedback to legislatures.
  • Digital Europe for All (DE4A) puts forward a new Member State-driven large-scale pilot aimed at compliance with Single Digital Gateway. Its over-arching goal is to reinforce trust in public institutions and to unleash multiple measurable positive impacts in terms of efficiency gains and reduction of current administrative burden and costs. This appears to be a mixture of hopeful thinking that the member states will somehow become more trusted if the take more control of their residents lives. That seems like a non-sequitur.
