Privacy in Mobile Credentials

With the trend to putting more of our Identifiers and Credentials on our mobile Smartphone it can become neccessary to pro-actively assess the impact on the release of our personal information.

Context

Some of the new Identifiers and Credentials that are being formatted for Smartphones inlcude:

1. Mobile Driver's License
2. Smart Health Card

Problems

As the places where an Identity certificate or access card are expected, more sites will become used to asking for more of our data.

• Many stores that sell alcoholic beverages and asking you to hand over your driver's license card (in IS 18013-1 format) so that they can capture all of the information that is loaded on it.
